PSYCHOMETRIC TOOLS

We combine psychometric tools with hill-walking and navigation skills which are then put into practive on the hills in real and genuine situations.

OUR Team Building experiences:

Choose from the following...

1. COMPASS NAVIGATION SKILLS
We teach the skills needed to successfully navigate your team across challenging terrain, relying on map and compass skills to find your way across the hills and moors. Shadowed at all times by Mark Reid and Richard Tarran, the team then put these new-found skills into practice with each person taking it in turns to navigate their team. Full day.

2. NIGHT NAVIGATION
This will take you out of your comfort zone – high on the moors with only a map, compass and head-torch to find your way! And with visibility of less than 20 metres, you are reliant on pacing and bearings. Again, we will teach the skills needed to successfully navigate your team across the fells and moors during daylight hours, then head back up to the hills at night where these new-found skills will be put into practice with each person taking it in turns to navigate their team through the inky darkness. Full day, into the evening. An experience to remember!

3. ADVENTUROUS HILL-WALKING EXPERIENCE
An adventurous and enjoyable day’s exploration of the hills and valleys where success and achievement is gained through shared experiences. All walks are tailored specifically for each group according to ability, aims and aspirations.

 

THE CHALLENGE OF NATURE

Our hill-walking experiences are NON COMPETITIVE. Competition divides and fragments, whilst our experiences bond and unite. It is the terrain, elements, hills and valleys, navigation, self reliance and inter dependence that are the challenges, where achievement is gained through shared experiences.

Experience, fitness and gear:

EXPERIENCE
No experience required. Full training and guidance will be given. All participants will be guided or shadowed at all times.

FITNESS
All walks are tailored specifically for each individual group according to your needs, aspirations, experience and average fitness levels. However, a basic level of fitness and mobility is required as the natural environment can be demanding at times.

GEAR
We can provide full BERGHAUS walking gear, including waterproof jackets, trousers, fleeces, rucksacks, gloves and hats. We will also provide everyone with an OS map, compass and head-torch.
